californians caught in blizzard!

we got trapped in Denver yesterday!
it was crazy - everyone was skidding out on the highway leaving Denver then the cops came and escorted us all off of there going the opposite way
it was awesome we drove through a ditch!

sorry to people in Minneapolis, we ended up missing our show today...

report from Denver

here's a few snapshots from our tour so far -

tonight we played a drummerless show in Denver without Corey...
this was one of the two shows he couldn't do with us, but we're meeting back up with him in Chicago in a few days.
so far the shows have been a blast

we really dig Haunted Graffiti every night and their audience are nice

but - the situation here right now is that Aaron's got some dental problems!
it's pretty bad actually - Aaron went to a dentist this morning in Salt Lake City
and the guy wanted to give him a root canal, but had to deal with an abscess in his gums first!
so Aaron's got some weird tube in his mouth now and is popping painkillers hourly.
today we drove through some crazy snowstorms

Nedelle and Joey, this was a nice dog in Portland

last minute practice w/ Corey at Ari's parents house in Seattle, very nice and clean here

new hats

a great show in Missoula Montana for 5 dancing guys
one of them yelled at Aaron: "Gulp down that beer and start dancin'!"

delicious breakfast in Portland
I ate "scrapple"

Aaron bought some fried snacks!

Greg, Ari and Aaron -
Fred, Ari's dad fixed Nedelle's shoe!

now we're headed to Minneapolis, Chicago and on

Cryptacize + Pink

we are suddenly opening more shows for Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti for the rest of the month!!

here are the shows - hope you can make one.

but please take note, our drummer Mike is not going to be able to make this tour (though he is playing tonight in SF and will be on upcoming tours) -
our old friend Corey Fogel is coming along instead though...
he's never played our songs, and we won't really be able to practice beforehand, but Corey says he's listened to our cd a bunch???
I think it's going to be fun though,
something new at any rate

well, maybe see you around!

Mark Ronson DJ set

recently we were shocked to find out that incredible producer/musician Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse "Back to Black") has been spinning our cover of Steely Dan's "Peg" !    we are really flattered.
and we're pretty stoked to be on his playlist alongside other young folks like Nite Jewel and Telepathe...

phoned it in

today we played live on the podcast called "Phoning It In" !
where bands play over the phone.
it was pretty fun!

we played 5 of our new songs...
they sounded weird but nice through a phone

now we go back to working on 2 new songs for a Tomlab 7" -
thanks for giving us an assignment, Jan and Tom!

these are a nice counterpoint to photography that tries to make food look good.  according to trevor shimizu, he made them with the idea that they could make you fat just by looking at them, the way that thinking about exercise is rumored to make you thin.
